It’s been rumored for months now that Xiaomi presumably going to collaborate with the german camera company Leica. But latest leaks more or less comfarms those rumors.
According to some report coming out of China there some code found in the gallery app in MIUI Chinese rom that has some Leica reference. There are some Leica monochrome filter to edit your photos.
This is not the first time some smartphone brand collaborated with a camera company. Now some partnerships are mostly a marketing strategy. Companies like OnePlus and Oppo recently partnered with Hasselblad, Huawei had a really good relationship with Leica. They launched multiple phones with Leica branding. But because of the US ban on Huawei their sells only limit to china.
Xiaomi is set to launch Xiaomi 12 ultra/ Xiaomi Mix 5. With Huawei’s absence from global market Xiaomi is looking to up their camera game. Alongside with Xiaomi’s flagship phone’s If their budget smartphones also benefits from this partnership then more people going buy Xiaomi phones.
